That’s right folks, we’ve been on a dry spell for awards lately… only from the lack of entering the awards circuit. Mainly we’ve been pretty focused this past year on lengthy and larger than normal contract based projects (including some we’ve done for our agency clients). Most of the projects have not given us the freedom to enter them into award shows. However, this past year we did do a Web site for Nature’s Table Franchise Company which allowed us full freedom to expressly show off some of our Flash skillz. We did it. We made it to our fourth year of business. February 16th 2004 I sat down at my home desk and now 4 years later I’m sitting next to a great friend and I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the most amazing projects.

It’s unreal how fast you can reach goals and make things happen for yourself in life. Sometimes it happens so fast you have to ask yourself “How did I get here?”

I am extremely lucky to have made some of the most amazing friends and clients in these past four years and fortunately I continue to meet more and more of these amazing people.

I think we got here because we all love what we do, and we all love eating Snickers Cheesecake From Publix. YUM!

Seriously, I think it’s because we do love this stuff, and we’ve learned from our mistakes and how to not do the same thing over and over again.

From all of us at WHOISCARRUS thank you for being here for us through good times and bad. We’re glad to be where we are and it couldn’t have happened without everyones support. KEEP PUSHING US! We love this stuff and we love you!

In spirit of the holidays the team decided we should create and give something that people might actually want to keep for not just the holidays, but the rest of the year. We thought and thought, until we couldn’t think anymore, and there it was sitting on our own desks… “Lucky Bamboo.” The year ahead is said to be a rough one, so we felt we should all join up and do our best to spread the good cheer with some luck, and of course something we’d all want to keep on our desks. Thanks to Julio Lima over at Say It Loud for his wonderful source for silk screening on glass. CHAD’s off of OBT near College Park did an awesome job on our little glass pants and Eastern Leaf Company for their wonderful speed and handling of our little baby bamboo’s. Yep it’s Turkey Day! A.K.A. Thanksgiving, that day when we all get together with our friends and family to watch parades, football, and gather around the fat turkey’s of the world and gobble em up. From all of us at WHOISCARRUS, We hope you had a good one with your friends and family this past Thursday.

If you’ve lived in Orlando and have been through E. Colonial “50″ and N. Ferncreek Ave. Downtown Orlando you’ve probably seen the big hot dog stand at the gas station across from the autobody shop. If you haven’t then I suggest you head on over. It may seem funny and somewhat misplaced, but I promise you this stand is no laughing matter. It serves up some of the best hot dogs this company has every had. The whole team decided to give the little stand a try after passing it by so many times to other local restaurants and food venues. We laughed… we cried… we ate some dogs and felt like we needed naps on the couch with our belly’s so full.

Yep it’s that time again. As anyone knows after being in the art of Web and interactive you have to refresh your image. Well, after 2.5 years of sporting the dark “Back-in-Black” look we decided to rip it down and start a-new! So, we’ve begun the initial meetings of discussing how the heck we are gonna do things this time around. I don’t think this is a spoiler, but here’s a shot at the initial list of our ideas for the new WHOISCARRUS 2008 site.

If you haven’t noticed the extra traffic near the Conroy Rd. / I-4 area then you probably don’t live in Orlando, FL. If you did then you’d realize not only are we home to a mouse that lives in a magical castle we are now sporting one of the largest IKEA stores in the U.S.

As a small business owner I can say I look forward to what this will allow us to do as we venture into the interior design realm. This also makes me super excited to know that I can now redecorate my entire 1500 sqft. home for less than a used Pinto… now that’s freaking awesome! Any way the team and I headed over to check out the new store and found it totally amazing beyond belief. I stand by my words about the price of redecorating. It’s a freaking amazing spectacle to behold. We already sport an entire office of IKEA goodness, and are about to invest in an entire IKEA office kitchen make-over! We’re in the planning phases right now, and plan on having the office kitchen decked out and redone come the start of the year. Thanks for coming to Orlando IKEA… It’s about darn time!

I’m sure all you cool people out there with the strong love for Apple Computer paraphernalia have already purchased and downloaded / uploaded and installed all the latest and greatest gadgets and add-ons for your lovely devices. However, have you got the super cool WHOISCARRUS iPhone Desktop? I’m sure you don’t as I have just now uploaded it to the internet. Long time friends and work colleagues from a little Multimedia firm in town called Scribblefish Media finally tied the knot. I’m not 100% sure on how long they had been together completely, but from the time myself and my partner Kevin have known them it’s been about 6 years from what I know. I believe it was 9 - 10 years total. They sealed the deal at the Mission Inn & Resort about 1 hour out of North West Orlando. It was a real surreal moment and I actually shed a few tears for my fishy friends. We all wish you the best of luck Jay & Cynthia!

After a grueling initial part of the day while brain-storming concepts for our new company Web site, we decided to call off the rest of our Friday and chose to rock out at the Orlando Fun Spot for some good old Go-Cart racing and bumper cars. Initially I wasn’t too keen on the thought as I sometimes believe to heavily in that old saying…”You’ll accomplish more if you start now!” I still firmly stand behind that thought, but in the end I realized we would have been beating a dead horse… or leading a cow to drink dirty water or something like that. In the end the day was fun and I had fun taking Jose to town on the Green Track. “Burn rubber and taste my dust Jose!”
